Bright colours and rectangle 

The use of bright colours is continuous throughout the campaign along with the use of shapes. The constant uses of similar shapes and bright colours link them all together. Throughout his music videos there are different adaptations of the album cover. The artist has assigned a set of colours in each music video. On the album cover he has used a white shape where this shape then appears in all of the music videos of the album but in a different colour. Almost like the colour white is not allowed to appear throughout the campaign.

In Justin Bieber's recent work, he has used similar types of images but not as clearly as some artists do. His newset song 'I'll show you' is the opening to the website which is a still from the chosen music video. So as expected this will change for every new song he releases from this album. The covers for each song is the same just with a different name (the song title) the image directly above show him holding a sign, every song released from the album has featured the same image. For the album cover, it is not as clear on how they are all linked.The colour rule is the same of those that are for each song. The album not being the same may be because of the title being 'purpose' This works well because it takes away the normal routine of most artists .

Through the new release of Nicki Minaj there is a significant use of the colour pink. In her music video it is done by her costume choice and the bright lighting.  The idea that her website and video look fluffy and girly. this is continued through her hair as well. This appeals to her target audience as well as the majority of her target audience are females. 

I will create synergy in my production by the colour choice and the style of photos that I use for the digipack and the website. My colour choice will be from a selection of 5 being the main colours; black, white, grey, red and blue. The style of photographs will be similar and so will be style of make-up.

Ideas Update

VIDEO.

For my visual ideas for the music video I will have people jumping into the pool at climax during the song but being shot from underneath the water by using a GroPro, this will be replacing the ink drops that are show in my animatic apart form the introduction of the song. I will also feature close ups of the artists face and body parts which will include her singing, the aim of this is to make the artist look flawless and appeal to her audience. The location setting for the video will be the Swimming Pool, Studio and the Woods. This is to create different moods through the video and desired locations to move the video along in the narrative which wont be visually easy as music videos of today don't just lay out the narrative they let their audience create they idea of the narrative from what they see. My narrative will be that their relationship is falling apart and she feels like the man is confused that he thinks he can take her for a fool. The swimming pool will show this by them jumping in but this is because going so deep in water can cause pressure to the body compress the brain making it painful. The setting of the woods will so flashbacks of the video were they were happy because this setting creates a overhead darkness and therefore foreshadowing the future. The studio will be used for close ups of the artist to take away any surroundings and show how lonely she is feeling. I am keeping to the colours of a dark tone to set a natural mood of sadness as the lyrics but it wont be set in black and white as I personally think using black and white looks like the artist is looking back on constant memories when she isn't. The chosen colours of the clothing will set the darker tone.

These websites show key parts that I want to show in my own website. I like the constant simplicity throughout my chosen three websites as in my primary audience research the majority of people preferred a minimalistic website. I will use the set up like a blog because my target audience are engrossed in social networks as it is easier for them to navigate. I also want the bright inject of colour instead of having just a black and white website so it links with my music video and digipack.  I will also have a sidebar on the menu instead of above and the use of an infinite scroll and many images of the artist so that the audience can feel connected and like they have an insight intro their life and the demand characteristics of the record label to show close ups of artist.

DIGIPACK.

  

 

 

 

My digipack with be have the main colour white, this is because it keeps it minimal and in link with the website and the music video. The digipack will include minor inputs of bright colour like in the Mogwai album above. The types of images in the pack will be like the image above but hiding most of the face of the artist like many of the artists in the genre but also carry on the voyeurism that features in the music video. The colours most likely to be involved in the pack will be black, white, grey and dark rich burgundy colour.

Location and Set Planning

I will not need to add any set elements for my music video for any of the possible locations this is because I want them to look natural and untouched.

For possible places to shoot my music video I have a choice of five.

1. A swimming pool
2. The woods
3. A studio
4. A house
5. The beach

In the production of my video I will use about 3 different locations.

The swimming pool is a possible location as the idea o the people jumping in the pool with light clothing could symbolise the ink and the falling of the relationship and how the relationship having arguments has blown "out of the water' . Depending on a availabilty this is my most certain location. 

The second location possibility is the woods. Shooting in the woods is intimate and can be adapting to look darker than daylight, this creates a good feel for comparing the dark of the relationship to what it is now as as it could be a shot from early morning till darker at night or the afternoon.

Shooting in a studio will be better for my chosen close ups as it will look more clinical if shot like that. It will also show colours up brighter and better but because of the clinical look of just being in a studio it takes away the intimacy between a couple and the look of it being natural. 

Being in a house creates the normal look of a couple who live together but because I am aiming for an explosive climax through the house, it doesn't coordinate well with being set in a house and then jumping to surreal animations. It just doesn't run as smooth a other options that are available. 

Shooting in a beach works well like shooting in the woods but the weather conditions could delay the shooting and could also have an impact on the way the video looks. If shot on a day with the best weather conditions it can work really well for showing the upside of the relationship.

Costumes and Props

The main singer is female so I have closely chosen what she will be wearing throughout the video. The clothes have been chosen to show features of her body. To start off the make-up with be from personal sources and not brought. The make-up on the eyes will be over dramatic to draw attention to her eyes from the audience this will hopefully create a connection between artist and audience. The lips will be a bright colour to stand out compared to the dark outset of the video and the plain coloured outfits. I plan on the hair being long and if the chosen persons hair is not long enough I will add extensions to her hair. The outline of the outfits will be a low back bodycon dress, this will come from somebody that already owns and not brought. The colour of this dress will either be a pale pastel or black. This will be chosen when the colours of the makeup is certain. A pale colour will be used to show her innocence but if black is used it will be to show her change in behaviour form the start of the relationship and that she is becoming bolder. A coordinate set will be used to make her look more well  spirited and happier compared to the dress. the will also be used for leg close ups. The set will be brought. Shoes will be black and depending on the dress top they will either be plain or include a wrap over pattern like the heels in the create above. The nails are important as there will be many hand close ups. The nails will be a pale colour because the hands are shown at the start of the relationship were it was better than were it is now. Many of my female target audience wear what my main singer will be wearing this is to appeal to the target audience.

The main male involved in the music video will be seen dark throughout the video as many male artists hide their faces in this genre. This will be down by all black eye contacts which will be brought to make the male look sole less and unable to connect with the audience as there will be no direct eye contact. The hair cut will be new and well cut so that the male looks precise in his appearance. The clothing will be a mix of being brought and coming from someone else. There will be close shots with him and the main singer where she will be wearing the dress and he will be wearing a suit. But on his solo parts he will be dressed down in high end jeans and long T's this is because this is what my male target audience dresses like. Shoe choice will also be important as my target audience are shoe motivated so I am trying to keep this at key sight.

The extras in the video are being shot whilst jumping into a pool ideally I want the girls hair to be long as it will look better but the girls will be wearing black swimwear, this is to show that in the relationship she was open but the male will be wearing swimwear with a Tee on the top, this is to show he was conserved and not open like her. This will show the deceiving of the relationship and that she was hurt by him.

Nation Media Museum

Today I visited the nation Media museum in Bradford.

Along the way I found in depth research on animation, film and photography. 

Below I have attached imagines from my visit.

I found the original ideas on kaleidoscope animations, the Internet success and some work on target audience as well as types of lighting and images which I think will enhance my understanding for my music video, web design and digipack. On the walk I saw how kaleidoscope originally happened and different ways of them being created.

During independent walking I came across an Internet collection that explain what people expect to see on social networks and websites, to break through successfully is to take a different approach to shock people. Across the production set I worked how to use some of  the equipment being set up cams on a tripod dolly which I will be using in my music video. Looking at some of the equipment also developed my knowledge of technical research and to see if I can get hold of other equipment online or to rent them out for my filming. It has also given me a step forward in how to use the camera on a tripod doll and what the procedures of production would be like if I had worked in a group. I had also worked on a blue screen so even though I may not include this in my music video I have also worked how to use one just in case I do.

During the insight tour it was explained how to use three point lighting in different ways to create different emotions in a video.
